We’re delighted to have been awarded the NEC Option C contract for the Phase 2 Spring Hill project by Birmingham City Council.
The A457 Spring Hill forms part of Birmingham’s Strategic Highway Network and provides a key arterial route from the Black Country into central Birmingham. The road is heavily used by both local and through traffic and forms part of the emergency vehicle route to the M5 Motorway.
In order to reduce congestion and boost both investment and employment opportunities within the area, this new Design and Build contract will see a realignment of the A457 Spring Hill from Spring Hill Bridge to the intersection of the Dudley Road / Ladywood Middleway roundabout.
Commencing on 4th July, with an expected duration of 63 weeks, the works include the installation of a new aluminium footbridge over the Birmingham Old City Canal adjacent to Spring Hill Bridge, alongside provision of earthworks, drainage, surfacing, street lighting, new signage and traffic signals modifications and significant service diversions.
