This aerial drone footage of McPhillips’ site for the new Wyre Forest Emergency Services Hub in Kidderminster shows progress on the main building and training facilities.
When completed this new hub will enable the co-location of Bewdley, Stourport and Kidderminster fire crews and equipment along with the Police Safer Neighbourhood Team and Severn Area Rescue Association and will provide some of the best training facilities in the UK including:
• ‘Hot fire house’ using LPG to create realistic scenarios.
• Steel framed tower for practicing high level working and rescues.
• Dedicated road traffic collision area incorporating a section of dual carriageway.
• Large water pit that will enable training with a High Volume Pump (HVP).
Along with full-time and on-call fire fighters, water first responders will be based at the centre who are responsible for rescues and searches in shallow waters or flooded areas.
